The origin of this community goes back to Portugal and its traditional and economical activity is fishing.

Among the species tha live on this área, there are “moréias” (Muraenidae), “garoupas”, “meros” (Epinephelus), shoals of sardines and squids.
The journey to the local to dive takes about two hours e almost always there are the company of “atobás” (Sula leucogaster), “fragatas” (Fregata magnificens), “andorinhas-do-mar” (Sterna hirundo)...
For those that do not have intimacy with neoprene clothes, oxigen cilinder and breathers there are diving schools that offer “baptism” courses, a dive that do not demand previous experience and is assisted by instructors.
